Here at Cedar Lodge Texas, we want to assure you that we take the current situation very seriously and are implementing extra COVID-19 safety measures to prevent the spread of this virus.

As a retired Registered Nurse and owner of Cedar Lodge, maintaining the health and safety of our guests and staff during this time is, has, and always will be a top priority.

Being a nurse, I learned a variety of cleaning techniques and best practices to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a clean and sterile environment. We’ve gone on to apply these same safety measures to both our home and resort.

Since the State of Texas has deemed us an essential business, we want to assure our guests that we’re doing everything we can (and then some) to keep them safe during their stay. We’ve always taken pride in providing our guests with a safe and enjoyable stay at our resort and through these additional precautions, we will continue to do so.   We’ve outlined some of our existing cleaning procedures plus extra COVID-19 safety measures we’re taking to keep guests healthy and safe during their time with us. Here are a few of the changes you might notice at our resorts:

Safety Measures for Our Cabins

To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, we’ve implemented a new precaution for guests checking into our lake cabin rentals.  We offer no-contact check ins upon request and allow only one person in the office at a time.

We’ve implemented the use of a disinfecting fogger for the cabin interiors. The fogger is similar to a bug fogger but uses a hospital-grade disinfectant aerosol to disinfect the entire cabin.

In addition to our routine cleaning procedures, we’ve added a few extra steps to our cleaning process. Per CDC guidelines, our housekeeping staff is using a bleach solution to clean and disinfect all areas and surfaces. Bleach is the most effective disinfectant against viruses and recommended by the CDC. A few things we do to clean our cabins between stays:

  • We always clean all cabin surfaces with EPA-approved disinfectant cleaners
  • Linens in the cabins are washed after every guest and left clean and fresh for each new guest. We also clean all towels with bleach.

In regards to air filtration, we want to reassure our guests that our Texas lake cabins are safe. We have taken added precautions related to air quality and safety.

Each cabin includes:

  • Several windows and one or two doors guests can open for fresh airflow
  • Fans for additional airflow
  • An AC/heater unit with filters that housekeeping cleans and disinfects between each guest’s stay

COVID-19 Safety Measures for Our Common Areas

Our common areas are now open.  Our staff cleans and disinfects these areas several times a day.

Our office area is still open.   We are actively cleaning high touch point areas several times a day and utilizing proper social distancing during the check-in and out process. You can even call us to make arrangements for a contactless check-in.

For any shared outdoor equipment, including our boat rentals, Seadoo jet skis, and game equipment. We are cleaning and disinfecting all of these surfaces with a bleach solution after each guest’s use.

How We’re Maintaining Social Distancing

During your stay, you may notice a few ways in which we’re embracing social distancing to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and keep our guests safe. We are maintaining and recommending six feet of distance between all guests.

Since each of our cabins sit more than six feet apart. Guests will be able to maintain a safe distance from others. Also, all of our cabins are equipped with a private kitchenette (Cabin 42 has a full kitchen) and bathroom so you’ll never need to share the same space with other guests.

Each cabin also has the right amount of outdoor space and nearby private beachfront access, so visitors can still enjoy the lake while keeping a safe distance from others.

Travel is a Personal Choice

But, if you need to get away for a bit or take in some fresh Texas Hill Country air. We want to reassure you that we are open. The lake is full, and there’s plenty of fresh air and space for guests to enjoy with their loved ones safely. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We can be reached at 512-793-2820 anytime between 8-6 CST. If you’d like to check cabin availability, please visit our online booking engine found here. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,
Gwen & Bryan Carpenter
